How you put in your contacts and how they interact with your eyes is the same whether they are coloured contact lenses or corrective contact lenses.
Our contact lenses are completely safe to wear. PRIMAL® contact lenses are manufactured in regulated and standardized facilities in compliance with North American quality standards. They are authorised to be sold in Canada by Health Canada and in the United States by the FDA.
The high quality of our PRIMAL® contact lenses is due to the printing method we use. There are two ways of printing coloured contact lenses, laser printing or stamping the design between layers.
Although laser printing is more efficient, the stamping method gives a better end result. Furthermore, laser printing is often done on the outer surface of the contact and the pigment is more likely to rub off. The technology that we use secures the pigmentation between two layers of HEMA polymer to ensure the best possible experience for our clients.
You can keep your PRIMAL® contact lenses up until the date inscribed on the white label affixed to each box. On average, contact lenses that have remained sterile and in their original packaging are good for up to 5 years.
Our cosmetic coloured contact lenses are designed to offer a range of natural eye colour enhancements from a delicate to intense change that bring your eyes to the forefront of your looks. Choosing the right cosmetic coloured contacts for your natural eye colour is now a lot easier thanks to our three distinct styles of contact lens design:
Our DELICATE collection: Enhance your natural eye color from our line of translucent & semi-translucent contact lenses. This collection allows the wearer to achieve a bright and natural look, while adding depth and detail. The colours are blended and layered in such a way as to imitate the iris as accurately as possible. This also means that the contacts contain some transparent sections where your natural eye colour shines through.
Our BRILLIANT collection: Elevate your natural eye color from our line of semi-opaque contact lenses. Using natural colours and vivid patterns to widen eyes, this allows the wearer to achieve a more bold and brighter look.
Our INTENSE collection: Intensify your natural eye color from our line of opaque contact lenses. This allows the wearer to achieve a dramatic and striking appearance. The opaque pigments offer you a dramatic look which masks your natural eye colour.
Our clear non-coloured bi-weekly prescription contacts have a UV filter. This filter blocks both UVA and UVB rays, but without affecting the light quality around you like sunglasses do.
PRIMAL’s “Cat Eye” style contact lenses are weighted to ensure that they stay in place as long as possible. Nevertheless, this type of contact lens might end up rotating on your eye after a long period of time or following repeated blinking. Rest assured, however, that this will in no way affect your vision.

We encourage you to always visit an eye-care professional before wearing contact lenses. A professional will be able to conduct an eye health examination, explain how to properly wear your contact lenses and provide you with a valid prescription for the purchase of your contacts.
Even if you will only be wearing non-prescription cosmetic contact lenses a couple of times a year, we would still encourage you to go and visit an eye-care professional first.
Wearing contact lenses entails a certain number of risks.
If you feel any discomfort, remove your contacts and speak to your optometrist about it. Although most eyes have a base curve of 8.6 mm, this measurement can vary from person to person, just like any other part of your body.
PRIMAL contact lenses are available at numerous retailers across Canada, the US and the world! To find a retailer near you, please contact us at: customerservice@lesieurinc.com
If you live outside of Canada, you can still purchase our contact lenses at a local retailer or online on our web store.
If you intend to make an online purchase, we suggest that you first read up on the standards currently in place in your country to ensure there will not be any issues with importing your contacts. PRIMAL® Contact Lenses cannot be held responsible if your purchase is held up at customs in your country.
Eyes are organs that require oxygen through the cornea to function. PRIMAL® Contact Lenses are formulated to allow this flow of oxygen, comfortably. To maintain optimal eye health you should not wear contact lenses for more than eight (8) hours per day, for more than three (3) months. With time, contact lenses become less porous and more rigid. Whether or not they are frequently worn, the amount of oxygen they allow to reach the cornea will significantly decrease.
As with any contact lens, if you wear your PRIMAL contact lenses for longer than the recommended length of time, you increase your level of risk – even more so if you do not clean your contacts on a regular basis.
Keep in mind that the majority of problems linked to wearing contact lenses are caused by improper use of the product and not the contacts themselves.
You should not sleep with your contact lenses in for one very simple reason – your eyes need to be able to access oxygen while you sleep. This usually happens naturally since your eyelids are air-permeable, but the additional layer of your contacts underneath your eyelids prevents your eyes from being able to access the essential oxygen that they need.
No. We strongly recommend that you do not wear your PRIMAL® contact lenses beyond their three (3) month lifespan. With time, the molecules of the contact lenses weaken and become less porous and more rigid which can increase your level of risk.
Whether or not they are frequently worn, the amount of oxygen that your contacts allow to reach the cornea significantly decreases after three months.
NEVER SHARE YOUR CONTACT LENSES! When it comes to contact lenses, you should never share or exchange your contacts with anyone else.
In fact, doing so is often the root cause of eye infections and conjunctivitis (pink eye). Wearing coloured contacts should be an individual affair, and your contacts should be treated and cared for in the same way that you would any other contact lenses.
We do not recommend that you clean your contacts with water, and certainly not with your saliva. Doing so puts you at risk for several issues, including irritation, discomfort and bacterial infections. Only use an appropriate disinfecting solution.
Yes, you can wear your contact lenses when you’re playing a sport! Disposable, soft contact lenses are the easiest to wear during sports. Soft contacts work better than hard ones because they are larger and thus more stable, meaning that you have less chance of losing one.
Water sports
Swimming with contact lenses in is not recommended by ophthalmologists. Despite the presence of chlorine, pool water contains parasites (amoebas) which can become embedded between the contact and your eye, causing irritation.
When it comes to swimming, water polo or even synchronised swimming, you are better to use prescription swimming goggles.
Combat and team sports
When it comes to combat and team sports, the main risk of wearing glasses is that they can end up getting broken. This is a fairly dangerous issue since the broken glass could end up in your eye.
As such, it is recommended that contact lenses be worn for judo, karate, taekwondo, soccer, handball, basketball and any other combat or team sport. In addition to increasing your comfort level during play, contacts also widen your field of vision, improving your performance.
Outdoor sports
When outdoors, wearing soft contact lenses is strongly recommended to avoid the risk of losing your glasses. When you are outside, remember to also adequately protect your eyes from the sun, whether you are jogging, biking, skiing, climbing or even snowboarding – no matter what the weather! Your eyes, just like your skin, require at least a minimum of protection from the sun.
For athletes with vision problems, contact lenses are the best solution. They improve both your vision and your performance, which is sure to also increase your sense of well-being afterwards.
Yes, you can drive while wearing your PRIMAL contact lenses. In low light, a pupil dilates on average to 4.6 mm, although it can end up dilating even more in really low light. No problem! Your ability to see will not be affected. You might, however, end up with a light, coloured halo around your field of vision.
WARNING: With our “Mesh” models, which cover your pupils, driving is not permitted, especially not at night, as these contacts will reduce and limit your field of vision.
The following are PRIMAL®’s “Mesh” models:

● Terminator II (898)
● Jurassic I (902)
● Jurassic II (903)
● Jurassic III (904)
