Makima is one of the most capable female characters in the show; however, her real intentions are always clouded in mystery, so much so that those who are close to her are hesitant to pry or question her motives. But say what you will; she shows compassion toward those who stand with her.

Makima is shown as an authoritative figure for the public safety division; she oversees everything that goes on within the city from a position of strength. She lets the division members handle most of what goes on and only makes a move if the situation gets out of control.

Makima has yellowish-orange colored eyes with two red circular rings around the pupil. In many scenes, her eyes appear bright orange with prominent circular rings, almost revealing her inhumane nature.

Her usual attire is her public safety work uniform, consisting of a dull white shirt, black tie, and black pants; she also wears a coat when going outside.
